My organization, Safe In Harm’s Way, works with survivors of domestic violence and toxic relationships. As a survivor of domestic violence, it was vital to offer a safe space, with an easy exit tool which shut down the site, if an abuser was monitoring a survivor seeking resources. I entered into discussions worried about protecting my brand and evolution and at the same time, grow in new directions. Additionally, I needed a way for our many sponsors to donate- freely and often.

The Digital Lagoon team became completely invested in hearing about domestic violence and all its ugly tentacles, so that they could build an experience which welcomed people at their most vulnerable moments. The team worked diligently to understand and implement my vision. Most importantly, Safe In Harm’s Way grew into international attention with Forbes, PBS, Fox News and NPR during the process. The DL team was able to pivot quickly and provide updates to changes reflecting our growth.

This team has evolved to some of my most favorite humans. To be able to work with intelligent and invested individuals intent on taking my hand to change the world, is a foundation for growth and ties to our future evolutions. They most definitely will be along for our Oscar red-carpet walk when the story of my life is made!
